Frances Jill McIvor CBE (née Anderson; born 10 August 1930) is a retired Northern Irish barrister who was the first woman to serve as Northern Ireland Ombudsman and Commissioner for Complaints (1991–93)〔‘McIVOR, (Frances) Jill’, Who's Who 2014, A & C Black, an imprint of Bloomsbury Publishing plc, 2014; online edn, Oxford University Press, 2013 ; online edn, Dec 2013 (accessed 15 Aug 2014 )〕 In 1953 she married the Ulster Unionist politician Basil McIvor; they had two sons and a daughter Jane. She was widowed in 2004.
